AWARD CATEGORIES
Oakville Entrepreneur of the Year:
This award recognizes an individual who personally exhibits extraordinary entrepreneurship, energy, inspiration, leadership and / or innovation in their business pursuits.
Oakville Restaurateur of the Year:
This award recognizes a person or employee team of a public eat-in food service establishment located in Oakville.
Oakville Small Company of the Year:
This award recognizes a company of approximately 20 full time equivalent employees and/or that primarily services Oakville or the surrounding region.
Oakville Large Company of the Year:
This award recognizes a business of many more than 20 employees and/or that serves the Canadian market and International markets.
Oakville Professional Service Provider of the Year:
This award recognizes a person (possibly 2-3) who exhibits extraordinary service, community support and client management in a professional service role related to one of the following:
- Personal health care, Wellness or Fitness
- Legal, Financial, Insurance, Real Estate, or Accounting, Consulting or Business Coaching
- Information and communications technology, Printing, Web or marketing agency
- Home maintenance, repair, landscaping
Oakville Environmental Leader of the Year:
This award is for a company that exhibits a significant proactive concern for, and proven success with, conducting business processes in such a way as to leave the environment (water, earth, air) better off because of their company’s products, services or investments.
Nominee Requirements:
- The business must reside, have a physical presence in Oakville.
- The business must have been in operation more than 3 (three) years under its present ownership structure
- The business must not have won an OABE in any category for over 3 years.
- The business must not be in receivership or bankruptcy
- OABE nomination process must be followed.
- Note: in any given year if a sufficient number of notable nominations is not received in any category, the judges reserve the right to cancel the awarding of that category for that year. At the discretion of the committee, awards may not be distributed in any category with low participation rates.
